How is everybody drawing countertops? I found a few families that are baiscally just sweeps, just and then I have to create a new family for each status (L, Double L, Reverse L, U, etc.) I am also having problems punching holes in the countertops.

Would it exist best to just create a contour family and just exercise sweeps within of the model? If so how do you become that sweep to alive in the casework object styles (so that my filters work)? And tin can you dial holes in a sweep?

For right at present I just got frustrated and am useing a 1.5" thick roof.... it works but isnt in the correct object style or textile which poses a problem for our estimating department.

component

metric/imperial libary

casework

kitchen

then cull the counter tiptop that is closest to your needs and edit the family unit, the counters are normally made from extrusions so just edit the extrusion and draw your hole.

I've tried various methods from using floors or roofs, to in place families and establish that the sweep contour works best for me. Creating the in identify sweep from a predefined kitchen or vanity profile under the "casework" category should notwithstanding maintain your visibility criteria. Set it at the proper height and place your sink at the proper height and cut the void.

I would create my own family component.

Create parameters for depth, thickness, length, radius of bullnose. Set fabric

So but drop into model and stretch to desired dimensions.

Male monarch Revit: how practise you bargain with multiple runs? (i.eastward. L, double L, U, island, etc.)

Dogfrey:  how do y'all add together a void/ hole to a  sweep?

once more i would use 1 of the pre-made famlies in that location are L shaped U shaped ect, i would change them though, usually with extra parameters (similar to what IDN101 suggests) so i can drive them in the projection,

Make a line based generic family unit. Create an extrusion and lock it to referance plane that will give oyu height and width. For length merely lock it to the pre-definded referance planes. When y'all bring it into the project you tin now stretch information technology with ease. It can also be joined with some other case to make the counter pinnacle expect lik one object. If needs be you can become and then far as to create parameters for voids that cut your counter pinnacle. That would be my arroyo.

(Dogfrey:  how do you add together a void/ hole to a  sweep? )

Select sweep:EditConfusedoid FormConfusedoid ExtrusionSadi usually tab the border of the sink which creates the purlieus)Set extrusion properties(if counter is set vertially at 3' and is ane 1/2" thick, set void for 3' start, 2'-ten ane/2" cease):End sketch:Finish family. No need to cut geometry.

The problem i had with the pre-defined counters was always tweaking lengths and opening positions/shapes, not to mention the doglegs and chamfers but for uncomplicated 'L's and straights, they work fine.

Hi there, I oasis't been online for a while. Just a comment on what you said. Yep it wont automatically schedule nether casework but what you could practise is resign it to the casework category. What you practise is go to Settings>Family Category and Parameters and change it to the casework category and thn you should be able to schedule it under casework.
